Abstract: Farmers and households in the Pacific Islands that depend on agriculture for food and livelihood suffer frequently due to the negative impacts of climate hazards on agriculture production. Numerous agricultural adaptation projects have been implemented in the Pacific Islands. The adverse impacts of climate hazards continue, leaving farmers in near constant “recovery mode”. This thesis critically analyses agriculture adaptation in the PICs to answer the question: What is needed to transform Pacific agriculture systems to increase resilience in the context of a changing climate?
