Abstract: The biodegradability and miscibility behaviour of solution cast blends of poly (e-caprolactone) (PCL) with poly(vinyl butyral) (PVB) and poly(vinyl formal) (PVF) has been investigated. The miscibility behaviour was studied by means of Raman Spectroscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM),Dynamic Mechanical Thermal Analysis (DMTA) and Solid State Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR). The biodegradation at different temperature and water content of the soil was studied by means of weight loss, SEM, visual observation and Photoacoustic Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR).
