Abstract: This thesis investigates the power quality issues that are becoming increasingly important to electricity consumers at all levels of usage. There are many major effects on the quality of power, due to the reactive power consumption and compensation in the networks, especially at the distribution level. Introducing renewable energy sources into power distribution systems increases the reactive power issues, hence it compromises the stability of the network.
