Abstract: This dissertation is based on the response of low and mid-latitude F2-region ionosphere to selected TCs and geomagnetic storms in the South Pacific region. Also, the long-term trends of the F2-layer critical frequency (foF2) due to climate change using 1947 to 2006 years of data have been estimated to find a possible climate change effect on the upper ionosphere in the southern hemispheric region.
