Abstract: The purpose of this study is to assess the extent to which school principals engage in effective instructional leadership practices in secondary schools owned by the Fijian government. While effective instructional leadership practices have consistently been identified as the core feature in raising student achievement and the general school outcomes, many of the effective instructional leadership practices remain unclear in the Fijian secondary school context.
